Skincare Routine For Sensitive Combination Skin
I thought I’d share an updated skin routine for my sensitive combination skin since my skin has been better than ever. If you have the same skin type, you know the struggle of it. Today I’m sharing my skincare routine for sensitive combination skin that will include a step-by-step order. All the products I list below are not sponsored and I purchased with my own money.

Morning Routine
Step 1: Use a gentle cleanser
I only wash my t-zone area in the morning. I like to use First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser as it’s gentle and fragrance-free.
Step 2: Use a Lightweight Moisturizer and SPF. I use Paula’s Choice Resist Youth-Extending Hydrating Fluid SPF 50. I like this moisturizer since it contains zinc dioxide. Zinc Dioxide SPF is suitable for oily skin as it acts as a natural astringent and has been shown to minimize oil production.
Night Routine
Step 1: Use a cleansing balm or oil to melt away sunscreen and/or makeup
I always double cleanse when I use sunscreen or makeup. I like to use a cleansing balm as it gently melts away makeup and eye makeup (especially waterproof mascara). I like how cleansing balms don’t dry out the skin. My holy grail is the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm.
Step 2: Use a gentle cleanser
I’m not too picky when it comes to cleanser since you just wash it away. I switch it up with a few different cleansers. I always use ones that don’t strip the skin.
Step 3: Use a lightweight moisturizer
I always moisturize my face while my face is still damp so the water on my skin doesn’t evaporate and dehydrate my skin cells. My go-to for about a year now has been Cerave PM moisturizer. I absolutely love this moisturizer.
Step 4: Apply serums
I wait about 30 minutes and apply my serums to allow the moisturizer to sink in.
Niacinamide
Niacinamide is one of my favorite skincare ingredients as it helps with discoloration, redness, oil, and even inflammation. I’ve been rotating between The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Paula’s Choice 10% Naiaciminaide Booster, Peter Thomas Roth PRO Strength Niacinamide Discoloration Treatment, and Dr. Dennis Gross Stress Rescue Super Serum with Niacinamide.
AHA/BHA
AHAs and BHAs help minimize acne & pores and brighten up dull skin. My tried and trued BHA is Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid. Nothing compares to it. Also, I switch it up with Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum.
Apply a retinol or retinoid
I apply one at night as it promotes collagen and helps keep the pores clean. I use the over the counter retinoid, Differin.
