Treat Acne and Folliculitis With Salicylic Acid

What is Salicylic Acid?

Salicylic acid (SA) is derived from the bark and leaves of the willow tree—the powdered bark is treated with oxidants and then filtered into an acid.

Treat Acne and Folliculitis With Salicylic Acid

One effective and affordable way to treat acne and pityrosporum folliculitis (overgrowth of yeast bacteria on the skin) at home is with salicylic acid. This specific acid helps treat acne by cleaning out the pores and removing dead skin. I have personally suffered from pityrosporum folliculitis and have found that this acid helps immensely. SA helps fight pityrosporum folliculitis by cleaning out the pores and control the growth of yeast on skin. If you are currently dealing with problematic or oily skin, salicylic acid may very well be a solution for you!

Expanded Kit

Exposed® Skin Care sent me their most popular kit, Expanded Kit. This kit includes six products to help treat acne-prone/ skin while increasing hydration without clogging pores. The products are designed to work together to clean skin, treat and prevent blemishes, and restore moisture and balance. This kit is proven to give you clear, glowy skin in 30 days or less.

I was strongly interested in trying this kit to see if it would help control my pityrosporum folliculitis like other SA products I’ve tried in the past. I could tell after using this product after only a week that this helps control my folliculitis and left my skin feeling hydrated and clean. I truly think their products are worth a try if you have oily or problematic skin!

  • Salicylic acid is vital in keeping my skin clear. I no longer suffer from acne thanks to Accutane, but I still use a salicylic acid face wash daily.

  • I never had much trouble with acne (besides those awkward teenage years) until I had my thyroid removed about a year and a half ago. I think the drastic change triggered it, and I started a prescription cream with SA in it that has helped so much!

  • I’ve dealt with folliculitis for as long as I can remember. I’m always looking for a better way to deal with it.

    • I have found that a diet limited on yeast + carbs, oral probiotics, salicylic acid, and ketoconazole products have helped me out 🙂 These are all helpful if you are suffering from the folliculitis cause from fungal overgrowth.

  • can’t stress enough how important it is to take care of your skin. Looks like an assortment of specialized products for each task.

  • I have folliculitis and NOTHING works! I hope this brand branches out internationally so I can try it, I’m really at the end of my tether on what to use now.

  • Having a solid skin care routine is so important and I feel the earlier you start taking care of it, the better. My daughter is going to have a rough time with her skin do to her skin care lacking skills, not for want of me trying trust me…….

  • I have been looking for a new treatment system and have never heard of this one. I would love to give this one a try and see how it works for me.

  • I didn’t know too much about this acid and use for skin care. My daughter is just starting to have to deal with acne and she would love something like this. I will definitely show her this post when I see her next.
