The Best Shampoos for Dry Hair 2018
The cold season unfortunately calls for dry, irritated hair. Luckily, there are many wonderful hair products on the market that help nourish and revive the hair. Remember that the combination of a nourishing conditioning and a gentle shampoo will help bring your hair back to life. Therefore, you want to use shampoos that are specifically advertised as “moisturizing,” “gently,” “anti-breakage,” “strengthening,” “restorative,” or “repairing.” Most importantly, you want to avoid shampoos that contain sulfate at all costs—it will dry and irritate your hair/scalp even more. With this in mind, we are going to talk about the best shampoos for dry hair!
The Best Shampoos for Dry Hair
Based upon my personal experience, I think these are all worth trying if you are suffering with dry hair and/or scalp. Note: All of the shampoos listed are sulfate free and are safe on color treated, keratin treated, chemically-treated, and relaxed hair.
Organix Argan Oil Morocco Extra Strength Shampoo
I have been such a fan of Organix’s hair products for many years now and this shampoo is no different. This smells amazing and leaves my hair silky smooth. This one is definitely one of my top picks at the drugstore for dry hair.
L’Oreal Paris EverPure Sulfate Free Moisture Shampoo
This lovely scented shampoo is affordable yet stills does a wonderful job moisturizing and cleaning the hair.
Herbal Essences Bio: Renew Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo
I absolutely love the smell of this nourishing shampoo. This one will certainly leave your hair looking shiny and smooth!
DEVACURL No-Poo Original Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser
This one is for my curly ladies! This nourishing shampoo makes your hair more easier to manage and leaves your curls feeling soft and bouncy.
PUREOLOGY Hydrate Shampoo
I like how gentle yet nourishing this shampoo is. My hair feels so soft and silky after using this. I’m personally not the biggest fan of the smell of the shampoo (some people actually love the smell). However, the smell is not a deal breaker for me because this works wonders on dry hair.
Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair!™ Super Moisture Shampoo
Last but not least is Briogeo moisturizing shampoo. This shampoo is at the top of my list because it deep cleans the hair without stripping it. My hair feels super clean yet hydrated. I also like how this one is 95% naturally derived and it’s free of silicones, phthalates, paragons, DEA, and artificial dyes.
Winter here can be brutal on our skin and our hair. We love Herbal Essences, it smells so good too!
It can definitely be harsh on the skin and hair! I’m a fan if Herbal Essence as well 🙂
I must check theses shampoos out! I need silicone free for my dry curly hair!
I totally understand girl because I have curly hair too!
I love this. My hair gets super dry during the winter and now im really excited to try these. Thank you.
Yes, definitely give these a try Ally! Let me know how it goes 🙂
I definitely get dry skin in the winter, but haven’t had much trouble with dry hair. I do use herbal essences, though, so maybe that helps.
That can explain it 🙂
I’ve had friends recommend the Devacurl No-Poo products to me in the past, so maybe this is the nudge I need to try them. And I love the smell of every Herbal Essences product I’ve ever tried, so not surprised this one smells great, too!
DevaCurl is definitely worth trying 🙂
I will have to show this to my daughter. She will be more interested in the one for curly hair as she has curly hair and wants to be able to care for it and keep it curly. She would definitely be interested in that shampoo.
Yes, she should definitely try out DevaCurl products 🙂
I have dry hair and it sucks! Thanks for sharing these products I’ll definitely try all of them out.
It definitely sucks! Thank you Jesus for hair products 🙂
I haven’t tried any of these shampoos so far. But I hear good things for Briogeo and for OGX with Argan oil. Those two will be my first choices.
They are both definitely worth trying 🙂
I have dry hair and I’ve been using a shampoo by Chi Royal treatment for quite a while, but it became too expensive for my budget, I will give any of your suggestions a try!
I looove the Chi Royal Treatment! I can’t blame you, it is on the pricey side!
