5 Essentials For A Beach Day

In order to be comfortable for an all day beach day, there are 5 beach essentials that I personally like to bring!

5 Beach Essentials For A Beach Day

1. Sunscreen

Avoid damaging UV exposure by always protecting your skin with SPF. Make sure you are reapplying every couple of hours and overtime you get out of the water. My holy grail face sunscreen is Neutrogena Age Shield Face sunscreen. This particular sunscreen is a favorite of mine because it has 110 SPF and does not cause any irritation or breakouts on my face!

2. Umbrella/ Sun Tent

I don’t know about you but I sometimes end up with a sun headache when I’m out in the sun for too long. To avoid that, I like to always bring an umbrella or sun tent! Let’s face it, too much sun (especially in one sitting) is simply not good!

3. Beach Chair/ Oversized Blanket

When I got to the beach, I either always bring a beach chair or an oversized blanket. My beach chair shown in the photo below is from Roraima. This one is lightweight, comfortable, and even has pockets to put my phone in.

4. Cooler

Even though some people may find bringing a cooler to the beach a pain, I find it a must!  Nothing beats having ice cold water after baking out in the sun. I also like to pack watermelon and sandwiches in the cooler!

5. Sunglasses

Just like your skin, your eyes can get sun damage as well. When you are lying on the beach for a long period of time, it is best to wear sunglasses. Keep in mind, not all sunglasses have UVA/UVB protection, so you have to check if your sunglasses lens have it! In the photos below, I’m wearing affordable Woosh Sunnies and Ray Ban Erika Sunglasses (they both have 100% UVA/UVB protection).

Now tell me, what are your beach essentials?

  • Sunscreen is the most important, so I am glad you listed it first!! We love going to the beach, and all of these are helpful. Most of the time, when we go, it’s during our timeshare so we are at a condo and have the opportunity to go to the building when it gets too hot.

  • Yes! These are all absolute essentials. I lived near the beach for almost my entire life and I can’t imagine a beach trip without these. I’d also have to add baby powder to the list. It’s a trick I learned living seaside. You can sprinkle / rub baby powder on to your feet and it helps keep the sand from sticking so you track less of it back into your car and all over your stuff.

  • Sunscreen for sure. I have a sensitivity to the sun and break out in a rash if I get too much sun. Also water for me us vital.

  • These are absolutely essential for a nice Long Beach day! I grew up in a small coastal town so I adore the beach and ocean days…

  • It is a useful post for me! All of them are very necessary for us when we go to the beach! Thank you so much for posting

  • The sunscreen and the beach chairs are absolute musts when it comes to going to the beach. This is a good list of things to think about.

  • We always forget sunscreen. But im the only one in my family that burns.. blah! I need a keychain clip one but then id be afraid it would leak =/

  • Totally agree with all of your essentials. Now I’m hanging out for a beach day so bad! They are my favorite.
