Reasons Why You Need A Himalayan Salt Lamp
Have you ever heard of a Himalayan Salt Lamp? Not only are they beautiful, but they also offer wonderful benefits. Here are some reasons why you need a (or maybe a few) Himalayan salt lamp(s) in your home:
Cleanse the air by removing contaminants
Himalayan salt lamps are most known to be beneficial in removing dust, mildew, mold spores, smoke, pollen, and other contaminants in the air. Cleansing the air means this will reduce asthma or allergy symptoms. How does it do this? Himalayan salt lamps attracts the water molecules from the environment and absorbs the molecules into the salt crystal.
Changes the charge of the molecules
Did you ever notice feeling rejuvenated after walking near a waterfall or swimming in the ocean? Believe it or not, it is not in your head! You are feeling this way because there is a high concentration of negative ions in the environment. High amounts of negative ions are most commonly found in nature, especially in places with moving water such as waterfalls or the ocean. However, when you are in an environment with a high concentration of positive ions, you will feel the opposite. Positive ions are caused primarily by electronics (which we all have a ton of). Therefore, it is a smart idea to have a few heated HSL because it changes the charge of the molecules, creating a healthier environment.
Improves mood and increases energy levels
Heated HSL naturally emits negative ions that help improve mood, increases energy levels, and enhances sleep. Give it a few weeks and you will notice a difference in your mood and energy.
Helps with seasonal affective disorder
Too much grey skies can really effect anyone. However, HSL are known to give the same positive effects as natural sunshine.
Creates a relaxing atmosphere
HSL without a doubt creates a soothing atmosphere since it gives off a soft orangey, pink tue.
My Himalayan Salt collection
Once I got my first HSL, I needed to get one for every room. I always like to have some type of lighting in my room while sleeping (yes, I’m shamelessly admitting I’m scared of the dark). Instead of using a basic night light for my bedroom, I use a small Himalayan salt night light that I purchased at a local shop. I have another Himalayan salt night light in my bathroom. Also, I have a normal size salt lamp in my kitchen/dining room. My newest addition to my HSL collection is this gorgeous hummingbird hand-carved salt lamp. The hand-carved wood is such a beautiful detail on this lamp. I especially love how it has a dimmer switch to adjust the light brightness. This lovely HSL gives my living room such a serene setting at night.
